today I was picking up a print order. I had to take a toll road. I figure as long as I exit before the tollbooth, I was in the clear. so I drove as far as I could before a tollbooth looked like it was coming up. and to my surprise, my actual exit had come up before I reached any tollbooths! little did I know the toll had to be paid when you exit. FAIL ON ME.

signs said it was only a dollar to exit. so I pulled up to the booth with a dollar in hand. there was no one at the booth and the machine only took coins. FAIL ON ME.

so I just sit there waiting for someone to pull up behind me. someone does, a guy with a very strong African accent. he was also mad that we had to pay the toll. I asked if he had change for my dollar. but it turns out he only has change for his own toll. now were both stuck because he can't go around my car to pay the toll. and I can't pull forward or else the camera would get a picture of my plate and fine me.

so we wait a little more. and then a lady pulls up behind him. I make my way over to her and she has a very strong English accent. I wanted to say "you sound like you're from landan!!" but instead I just asked if she could have change for my dollar. she ended up being very kind and just gave me four quarters and would not accept my dollar in exchange. I thanked her, paid my toll, and was on my merry way to pick up my order.

i wrote my last words to bmod earlier today. but i was in a bad mood while i wrote them. hopefully it doesn't show. haha i'm sure it will, but hopefully it comes off as funny..? cuz it's similar to my humor.

is it me or does everyone AND their moms have a disneyland annual pass? i'm gonna have to get me one of those. but i have no money whatsoever. anyone feel generous and want to donate to my annual pass fund? yeah yeah? :D :D :D k fail...

i have a full day of errands tomorrow.. bah.

i've been having the biggest craving for pizza for almost this entire week. with red pepper sprinkled all over the place.

but tonight will not satisfy my pizza craving. while i do love joe's sushi, it wont get rid of my pizza craving.

i just want me some pizza already. may stop by lil' caesar's sometime tomorrow and buy myself a $5 large.

btw, cavs didn't just go down.. they went down in flames.

i was browsing through my really old photos, and found this picture i took back in 2006.. around when i first got my pentax. since then i've found that it was hard to catch the cla building on such a clear and blue-skied day. and when i did, i didn't have my camera with me.

i had forgotten to greet all the mother's out there a Happy Mother's Day! i don't think i even did so on twitter! Mo'Day fail on me! so here's a Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!

Regarding the mother in my life: she's only THE BEST and we had a very relaxing Mother's Day. traditionally, we always took my mom out for brunch after mass or dinner in the evening. we decided to do it a little differently this year. after mass at st. paul the apostle (where nick rosales from bMod OMG! claims he saw me), instead of taking her out anywhere, we decided to keep her at my sister's while we cooked for her. on the menu: bacon+sausage+vegetable fritatta, biscuits, cookies, ice cream, and mimosas. bummed it out for the rest of the day. jamie and my mom went out for a walk on a trail somewhere while i kept kobe and solid snake company. headed home not too late so we wouldn't keep jamie up for work the next day.

most of the day i was semi-stressing out because i didn't know where my keys were. i blame it on the fact that i didn't have to use my keys at all for the past few days: getting picked up by alex, staying at his dorm, riding with jay after the performance on friday, and getting a ride home from carissa after the board meeting.. i paid almost no attention to my keys. and when i got home, my mom was outside watering the lawn so i didn't even need to look for them when i got home. it wasn't until Sunday when i realized i didn't have them. but i was sure they were at either of the following four locations: Alex's Car, Jay's Car, Carissa's Car, or Jackie's Apartment. but then throughout the course of the day, each of them informed me that they looked and it was nowhere to be found. i start to worry and even emailed the event coordinator for Friday's performance to inform me of any Lost & Found items were turned in. then about 5 minutes after sending the email, i look at the jacket i wore on Friday and my keys were buried in it. fail on me!

time is dwindling.. i want to, but i know i shouldn't. it has consumed me for years and i can't let it continue.

i haven't made any insightful posts in a while. every thing's been updates on what i've been doing on a day-to-day basis. my thoughts are currently pretty scrambled and once i get it all sorted it, i promise to have a more meaningful entry.

bMod met up at level 3 to get ready for our performance. did the regular thing like all club performances, just chilled around the club as it slowly filled up. was nice to see a bunch of barkada heads and some cg heads coming out to support. performance was fun and well received by the crowd. far east movement followed with a few tracks including "girls on the dance floor." but performing only means one thing.. we can now drink! i got my drink on and partied hardy.. maybe a little too hard.. haha

spend the night at alex's dorm. my first time ever staying at the cpp dorms. i've always been grossed out by them. but in actuality, the dorm room itself isn't bad.. but the shared bathrooms are one i could do without. not feeling it. had a semi-uncomfortable sleep. woke up bright and early to get ready for our 'hip hop dance day' performance for the hip hop classes at cpp.

i was NOT feeling good. mildly hungover, thirsty, and the blaring heat wasn't helping anyone. we blocked formations for a half hour then headed down to the gym for the performance. one of our worst, but fun.. haha. the stage was shaky and wobbly, the music was quiet, the crowd was dead, most of us were hungover, we were in the hot sun at noon (peak hotness). we were literally having conversations during our performance as we danced, haha. had L&L's after and headed to jackie's for a board meeting. eep! changes up ahead!

random, but i just made myself a bomb grilled cheese sandwich lookin' ass.

i apologize for that short hiatus that my website went on, had some issues to deal with over at livejournal in order to get it to embed correctly into my website. i blame the stupid stupid girl in the above picture.

i woke up to some horrible news today. "entertainer of the year" for what seemed like every year for the past 10 years or so, Danny Gans, passed away this morning in his sleep! that guy was a legend, and literally the FACE of Las Vegas! everywhere you look, you'd see a billboard of this guy in his all black outfit and his white background. at only 52, i do hope he has a peaceful rest. again, i blame the stupid stupid girl in the above picture.

also found out while watching the news having my homemade sausage mcmuffin (yes, be jealous), that a bunch of hydroxycut products are being recalled. there have been over 23 liver damage cases caused by the regular dosage of this supplement since March. that's only over a month ago! of those cases, one actually needed a liver transplant, and one had even died from complications of liver damage. just putting it out there because i know people who take hydroxycut not only to lose weight, but as a simple replacement for energy drinks. beee careful out there! what can cause such a thing to happen??? i blame the stupid stupid girl above.

you should watch Barkada's PACN tonight. $18 at the door. it's going to be a great show. and then watch Ultimate Brawl on Sunday. bMod performing at both.

i want to watch X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Obsessed, and when it comes out, Angels & Demons. who's down?? LET'S GOOOO!!

fusion x was this past sunday.

bmod had a pretty good performance, but for me.. the event itself wasn't too enjoyable. i dont know.. the whole atmosphere backstage felt like it lost all sense of the dance community, especially in comparison to last year. it's not saying too much since last year was my first fusion experience.. but that experience just felt so much better. the dance teams backstage were mingling like no other. i felt like we were all there just to have fun and dance. but this time, it was lacking in so many ways, but at the same time in such a way that i can't put my finger on what was missing.. i thought it was a personal issue, but after talking to some people about the event as a whole, they agreed that something was missing from fusion this year. but i have to put some recognition on our runner, Angelica. she was so welcoming and friendly and our entire team loved her! one of the best runners we've had at any event!

much love and congrats to COMMON GROUND for placing third!! so proud of them! their set was amazing!!

aside from the weird/awkward/something-missing-but-i-cant-put-my-finger-on-it experience at fusion, the road trip down to san diego as a whole was awesome! after saturday night's practice, we all got our stuff together/ready and finally headed out to SD. our car consisted of: alex (driver), brittany, nick, jay, albert, jowena, karl, and myself. had a blast with my Catchphrase game that took up a good hour of the ride there. finally got to alex's house. once everyone arrived, we got settled and all fell asleep. the entire house was a huge hotel room pretty much. woke up to an awesome breakfast compliments of the manucal parents! loved their hospitality! finally headed out to fusion after a few group pics in front of the house.

oh yeah, i also got attacked by alex's maltese. :( :( :( sadness major. it sucks because the night we got there, Charlie loved me. would not leave my lap, and kept hopping on me to lay on. then the day after, i try to pet him and he bites the hell out of my hand. and alex is amazed because charlie never bites anyone!! and up to now, three days after, i can still feel a bruise-like pain where i was bit. bah.. alex and i are now even, because when alex visited me while i house-sat my sister's place, he got bit by kobe.. haha.

after fusion, we all headed to rigoberto's which turned out to be a huge fail because everyone and their mom was there and we didn't feel like waiting, ended up going to roberto's to eat, then finally heading back to pomona. alex almost falling asleep multiple times on the road.

monday, the first day for what seems like a long time that bmod didn't have practice! alex was bored, so i picked him up and we headed to best buy for some random somewhat-shopping. i bought a cooling pad for my laptop. at first i thought it didn't work very well.. but that was because it was almost 90 degrees in my room.. but under normal laptop usage, i think it might work pretty well. a full-fledged review on the product in a later entry.

anyways, after best buy alex is hungry, so we go to in&out. i get something simple: fries and a milkshake. but he ate the world with a burger and fries.. and a few minutes later another TWO orders of fries. bro's a monster.

we then met up with kat, neil, and paul.. and head out to buffalo wild wings to end the night.

so can the hot weather stop already?! it's like spring just got skipped and the world went straight into summer! not enjoying it at all. but hope is nigh! today's high is supposed to be 79! which is almost 20 degrees cooler than these past two days. then the rest of the week (and even next week) will be in the lower 70's again.

random.. but as i typed this entry, my Time Warner Cable cut out and reconnected at least three times.. that's unacceptable! good thing i'm ditching this crappy internet service on thursday and replacing it with verizon FIOS. the deal we're getting isn't too much faster than what i have now, but it's still faster nonetheless, as well as cheaper, and hopefully a lot more reliable than TWC. goodbye TWC!!

the world is in an imbalance right now. a lot of bad things are happening to people close to me.. hopefully this bad spell passes soon...

first day of fusion hell week is over.

started practice at 10:30pm!! it's alright because of all the events that went on tonight though. couple newly inducted SHEROES had a meeting/practice, and our very own Jackie taught her very first Boogiezone class in which the team attended. but starting late means ending late.. and after what i hear was a very intense class that jackie taught, everyone was already drained come practice time. a few hours in, delirium sets. and that just causes chaos. i let it slide a little since those who needed to work were still working. plus at the end of practice, the team was able to pull everything together and put out a pretty good rough-runthrough.

in other news, i just saw the movie trailer for The Taking of Pelham 123. looks pretty intense, like a modern day Speed. and John Travolta is playing a bad guy. crazy! if anyone remembers Tom Cruise's role as the bad guy in Collateral, it worked pretty well for him. anyways, the movie is about a hostage situation of a metro/train taken by Travolta; the protagonist to save the day is mr. Denzel Washington.. and a couple surprises popped up in the preview: one of my favorite actors, James Gandolfini (best known as Tony Soprano) makes an appearance, and Harry Gregson-Williams is doing the score. i usually know these things.. so it came as quite a surprise to see both of them in this movie.

on my drive home from practice, BLASTING the new Rascal Flatts album, Unstoppable (because as you know, i cant turn my volume down..), their song "Why" came on. such a sad song.. at first it just sounded like a somber ballad, but when i really listened to the lyrics and realized what it was about, it literally gave me chills. it's about a teen taking his/her own life. peekaboo! how creepy paparrazo do i look.. meh..

so bMod had a performance at the 2nd annual dance community awards this past saturday. it went great! i haven't felt that kind of a rush in while. thank you to the great hospitality of v.ent dance team. it was nice sharing the stage with mavyn and abdc's team millennia. after watching our performance video numerous times and noting all the many changes we could make to get our set better and stronger, i could tell the team is getting hungrier. only good can come out of that.

speaking of bMod, the barkada modern website was recently hacked into. that website is like my baby. the hacking culprits didn't do too much to the website though; all they really did was change the main page to a plain white html page with text reading something like "owned by -=M.O.B.=-" all i had to do was log in, get the files back in order, and change the account password. and everything was back to normal..

until the next day, when our website was suspended do to misuse and overuse. i contacted HostPC and inquired about the issue at hand. they told me that every website under the server that bMod's website was hosted on was hacked into and all the websites (probably thousands) had to be shut down. i just had to request a ticket to get our website moved to a different server. i chose New York because they would have lesser natural disasters than Texas and Florida (our website has experienced downtime when Florida was hit with hurricanes). a few hours later, our website was up and running, but rewinded back to February because it was the last backup that HostPC made of the website. so nothing important was really lost, except the shoutbox had a bunch of 'happy valentine's day' messages.. haha.

anyways that whole thing probably made no sense to many of you.. so here's to something that DOES make sense:

on my way to chad's house to get an XP install disc to repair jay's computer, i was driving on the freeway and my air conditioner was blasting (it was randomly hot that hour). and as i'm driving on the freeway, something flies out of my a/c vent towards me. my first reaction is.. "BEE!!!" so i'm trying to keep control of the car while darting around and contorting my body in weird ways trying to get away or find the bee that flew at me. and when i get a chance to look down, i notice that whatever-it-was landed on my shirt. and then i noticed it was just a piece of foam.

fail.

i had quite a weird dream last night.. that's a lot to say considering: i NEVER remember any of my dreams.. and if i do, the dream is just about my daily life as if i was doing the things i would normally do..

but my dream last night:

lost in some tropical forest with bugs/animals i've never seen

PLOT
okay so maybe i dont remember ALL of it.. but a remember a small chunk: the five of us were lost in this tropical forest. it wasn't a dark scary forest or anything, the overstory (top of trees) wasn't too dense so the sun was able to shine right through and light up the understory where we were walking. kwaku, being as tall as he is, bumps his head on a huge flower.. and out flies a little bug.. it looked like a small white worm/caterpillar with wings. it looked irked and aggressive and started attack kwaku as he tried to shoo it away. i see the bug take a stab at kwaku's face. after a loud "OUCH!" the bug flies away.

we continue on our 'adventure' to get out of the forest. no other animal/bug encounters that i can remember, but along the way, alex notices kwaku's face starting to swell, like a bunch of bubbles in his skin. we all turn, and his face is swelling bigger as we watch. the skin bubbles start popping and yellow oozy stuff starts spewing out all over the place. so we all freak out and start running, bumping into plants and releasing more of those little white bugs flying everywhere.. and that's all i remember.


Random Movie Review:
Taken. starring Liam Neeson

me alex and neil watched this movie last night. despite its slightly below average rating on rottentomatoes.com, i thoroughly enjoyed the movie. i would say it's a very close sibling to the transporter (starring jason statham) series.

action starts almost immediately. what would you expect from an up-there high-profile security officer who's daughter was kidnapped overseas with almost no heads-up as to who may have taken her so he has to use super investigative security forensics skills and methods to find her in 96 hours or else she'll mostly likely never be found? there's a LOT of "oh sh*t, that was crazy!" fight scene moments. while the ending does come quite abrupt, the movie was still done quite well.


...and looking at all the bMod finances are giving me a headache.. woo..

my 2009 has been going along pretty well so far.. but just like anything else, life had to find a balance in the positivity and throw something negative at me. when someone really close to me decides to betray, it really takes a toll on my emotional standpoint and forever changes the way i find myself trusting others. and the question forever stands: how can someone turn their backs to the people closest to them? and what drives them to take both destructive to others and self-destructive action?

* * *anyways, as if i couldn't get any nerdier, i've fallen into a nostalgic chapter. with the recent movie trilogy and future wolverine movie coming out, i've found myself engaging interest in Marvel once again, much like i had growing up. broke out the old (but complete!) collection of my collector cards. haha geeky and childish, yes.. but whatever. anyone my age or close to it MUST remember the old school x-men cartoon on the fox network. i'm sorry, but that show was all kinds of awesome. and upon further research i found out that x-men is the 2nd most requested animated tv show that is still unreleased on dvd, following shortly behind MTV's Daria. with a demand that high, im sure some money could be made if they released it. supposedly, in 2008, the series was being planned for release in the UK, but because of some drama with the media companies, the release (if any) is unknown.

but in this day and age of technology, some geek out there compiled all 76 episodes of the 5-year run series and made it available for download. so 12gigs and a couple days later, i've collected all the episodes, and will be enjoying my free time re-experiencing the series. yeah i know there was another attempt at an animated x-men series "x-men: evolution" but that gained almost no ratings and simply doesn't live up to the first one. yeah, the animation is thousands of times better, but the old series just had better plot-lines that stayed true to the comic. re-live the intro to the original cartoon and tell me that wasn't groundbreaking for its time: X-Men: The Animated Series Intro. /end nerd rant.

* * *yesterday was a day full of japanese eating for me. started my day with joe's sushi for lunch. all-you-can-eat awesome quality sushi woot! we're pretty much regulars there so we were getting a lot of free stuff. they just love us over there! everyone, including the non-21's got free sake bombs with the chef. food-wise, we got a hefty bunch of sushi that would feed well over 8 people BEFORE any of the actual sushi we ordered came out. a few sake bombs and a full stomach after, we head out and part ways. i go home and take a sake+food induced nap.

i then wake up and get ready to head out to cesar and jackie's birthday celebration at a japanese bbq restaurant in victoria gardens, gyu-kaku. i've been to gyu-kaku before; at the huntington beach location, and i was eager for the harami steak. we ordered a LOT of meat, mostly harami.. and it was just as good as i remember. and the fact that you cook it yourself to your own personal taste makes it a much better experience. the dinner itself was a nice reunion for a bunch of us as well. headed back to cesar and andrew's for a few more drinks and discussion. barkada ski trip 2009, watch out. haha!

started the day off with a nice sandwich for lunch (yeah i never wake up in time to eat breakfast).. then headed out to jayvee studios in alhambra to drop off a print order for joanna.. and to pick up a hefty check. woot. then i went to downtown pasadena to purchase [something] since i was already out west, even though it was still kinda far.. then i head home in bastardly traffic. took about 2 hours.. filled up cuz my gas tank was pretty much empty when i left pasadena, went to the bank to deposit the check, then target to buy some random stuff, then stopped by mcdonald's before i went home.

i was amazed to see that the $1 double cheeseburger is no longer on the dollar menu anymore! gasp! omgwtfbbq! it is now $1.19!! instead there was a new menu item in its place called the "McDouble." having no idea what that was, it was the first thing i google'd when i got home as i enjoyed my more than $1 double cheeseburger. turns out, the McDouble is almost identical to the double cheeseburger, except it only has a single slice of cheese. hah. interesting.

i find this fine because.. while i do love meat/cheese, getting one less slice would, in my opinion, not make much of a difference.. and the cheese that mcdonald's uses is so strongly flavored with fake soy stuff (even though i still like it) that one slice would probably do the job.. but regarding paying the same price for less burger: i wonder what's the next thing that'll go up in price at the famous eatery??

bmod practices have been getting very tiring for me.. but in that "getting a lot of stuff done" kind of tired.. so a good tired.. but at the same time, wishing i wasn't in so many pieces kind of tired.. haha!

me, jackie, rj and jean highly recommend the new pita snack at jack in the box.. in our opinions it was quite good. and only a dollar something. you get pita, inside is your choice of chicken (crispy or grilled), fish, or steak.. and then you get cheese, lettuce, and a really good chipotle sauce in there that is just nicely spiced.

the iron man dvdrip leaked.. as well as the dark knight screener... and yeah, the dark knight was quite hyped.. i think too hyped for me, because i was expecting a little too much from it.. i thoroughly enjoyed iron man though. but it suffers from transformers syndrome.. where it's fine the first time you watch it.. but anytime after, you'll be extremely bored during the first half.

the CMA music festival is going to air tonight in about 25 minutes.. not that anyone who reads this would care.. haha. i lose.

team millennia's 5th annual summer intensive showcase was tonight, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. that's saying a lot considering how bored i get at most dance shows. also helps to know people who are performing. good job all around especially to past and present bmod and sheroes! always feel inspiration at any show regardless of who performs.. wish more of the team would come out to things like this.

this is completely random, but the little apple gadgets are called "ipod shuffle" and "ipod touch," NOT "iShuffle" and "iTouch." saying "iShuffle" sounds like you're about to do a weird dance... and saying "iTouch" sounds like you molest children..

another thing that is totally random: you know what hurts a lot? when a friend of mine, someone who is dear to me, works so hard to take another thing that is dear to me and tries to destroy it -- yet i still hold this person in high regard.. if you can follow that and make sense of it, then you can understand that the situation is a hard one to deal with..

last random thing, this just simply made me laugh:

anyways.. i'm just a ball of confusion with a bunch of stuff regarding everything and nothing right now; here's to better days..

due to a mini-board meeting before practice yesterday, i skipped out on most of the stretching session.. so i did a quick and very insufficient stretch on my own.. result: painnnnnn!! i pulled some muscle in my back.. not to the point that i cant move.. just that there's a nagging and annoying sore pain in my back that just needs to go away..

THE 'OPEN MOUTH' PHENOMENA.

in looking at my pictures on my flickr, i noticed a phenomenon that mark mentioned that seems to be taking over the picture taking world. the infamous open mouth phenomenon! apparently, smiling or making a thizz face in a picture is out.. and the "open mouth" is in!

this "open mouth" facial pose is just that.. an open mouth.. not necessarily a 'happy' or 'scared' open mouth.. just a non-emotional mouth, that's open..

as you can see, jamie has fallen victim to the open mouth


in this picture, neil(gigz) and han have open mouths.. but full of scared emotion
kim, on the other hand, is a victim of the non-emotional open mouth phenomena


neil(gigz) and rj are both full blown victims of open mouth..
froi is also, and isn't even looking at the camera, serious case there...
and it seems that arvin in the back is halfway there

the open mouth is taking over!!
